Understand how to use each Eco Response solution to absorb and contain leaks

Eco Response has been operating since 2015 with the purpose of reducing the amount of waste generated and ensuring the safety of operations through the manufacture of quality products with high absorption capacity. We provide Environmental Protection solutions such as waste solidifiers, oil absorbents, chemicals and soluble liquids, as well as barriers and containment cords and flexible tanks.

In today’s text, we will explain a little about how to use each of these products and understand which solutions may make the most sense for your company when absorbing a leak. Check it out below.

Absorbent blanket

There are 3 types of Absorbent Blankets (White, Gray and Green).

White Manta is recommended for absorbing lubricating oils, fuels and  petroleum derivatives . Its absorption is immediate, constantly retaining liquids, does not absorb water and does not sink. Its advantage is that it can be reused until it reaches its absorption capacity, providing great cost-benefit.

To use this product, first check the size of the oil stain in the water, apply the blanket under the leak, wait a few moments and carefully remove the blanket. If the amount of oil is greater than the product’s capacity, simply add more blankets and be careful when removing from the water.

The Green Absorbent Blanket is recommended for absorbing chemical spills and the Gray Absorbent Blanket for any type of waste, including water.

An important tip that we share with you is that Absorbent Blankets can also be used in the form of a mat to prevent leaks in machines, maintenance, handling in laboratories, etc.

Absorbent cord

Recommended to isolate the spill area, helping contain it and preventing the accident from progressing. Also used as a form of prevention for possible leaks in machines and equipment.

To use it, surround the spill area with the absorbent cord, and apply the Absorbent Powder from the outside to the inside, cleaning the spill.

Finally, remove the strings and, if the absorption capacity has not been reached, save it to use again.

Absorbent barrier

Recommended for absorbing lubricating and fuel oils in water. With quick and practical coupling, immediate, floating absorption and excellent liquid retention, it can be reused until its absorption capacity is reached. It is used in lakes, rivers and seas, helping to prevent the passage and flow of spills and preventing even greater contamination. Also effective in preventing small accidents, it can be used in fixed locations with potential spills.

To use this solution, check the size of the leak and surround it completely, applying the barrier around the entire area in a downwind direction (allowing greater absorption). For best results, hook the barriers together, transforming them into one, and slide it against the oil together with the containment barrier.

Finally, carefully remove it from the water and fold it if necessary, preventing the leak from escaping.

Absorbent pillow

Suitable for continuous absorption, it is available in 23x23cm and 45x45cm options.

It can be reused several times, both on land and in water. Effective in preventing splashing when maintaining machines and equipment, hence the importance of observing the 5cm height, essential to increase the efficiency of its use.

To use, position the pad at the leak site and make sure it is sufficient to contain the leak until a definitive solution is reached. Once the problem has been resolved and stopped, remove the cushion from its location and fold it to avoid splashes on the floor. If it is not 100% contaminated, save it to use again.

Absorbent Powders – Peat, Dry’Oil, Absorbent Fiber and Waste Solidifier

Powdered absorbents are used for leaks on the ground because they facilitate the removal of the leak, guarantee greater safety for operators who are cleaning as they do not have contact with the residue, avoid spill stains on the floor and, finally, reduce the amount of waste generated. by the accident. Powdered absorbents are as follows:

Peat:  Suitable for absorbing oil and oil products. Easy application. It sinks after a certain period of time and has a low absorption capacity: Up to 5 liters per kg.

DryOil:  Suitable for absorbing and encapsulating lubricating oils, fuels and petroleum derivatives in soil or water. Allows greater cleaning and control of contaminants. Easy application. Reduction in volume generated, consequently reducing disposal costs. Hydrophobic. Non-toxic. Does not spread flames. It doesn’t sink. Absorption Capacity: Up to 15L per kg.

Absorbent Fiber:  Solidifies waste with extreme pH (acidic or basic) and waste with a high concentration of salts. Safety in the management, storage and transport of waste. Non-toxic.

Water-based Waste Solidifier:  Yield: 1 kg of Solidifier for up to 120 liters of water-based liquid waste. Practicality and safety in the transport and storage of waste. Non-toxic. Reduces the odor of waste. It solidifies and retains liquids, which do not return to their original state, only changing the physical nature of the residue.

Eco Response Solutions

Eco Response believes that economic development can go hand in hand with environmental awareness and sustainability. Our entire product line is aimed at reducing the amount of waste generated through high absorption capacity and efficient containment of leaks and, consequently, reducing the cost of disposal and environmental impacts.

We would also like to highlight the correct disposal of all products used to clean spills, whether co-processing or landfill, the important thing is to pay attention to the correct destination, thus reducing the impact on the environment and contributing to a better planet.
